Who We Are 2017-11-25T23:53:08+00:00

Our Mission

Blue Mound United Methodist Church shares in the mission of all United Methodist Churches –

To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our world.

We are trying to do our part here in Northern Denton County.

What We Believe

First and foremost we believe in Jesus Christ. God, God-self in human form, who came to earth to redeem us, set an example for us of how to live, and to restore us into loving relationships with God and each other.

Blue Mound United Methodist Church is, of course, a United Methodist Church and therefore can reference our denominational resource for more specifics. Although, it would also be helpful to point out that our denomination (and this church) has room for people with varying perspectives on theological, social, and political topics.

From UMC.ORG

“The United Methodist Church is a 12.3-million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens minds and open doors through active engagement with our world.”

Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Billy Graham

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

C. S. Lewis

I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me
