“This is the message of Christmas: Because He loves us, God has come to redeem us—to bring life and color back to our lives, to expel the darkness of our hearts and from our world. On a rescue mission designed by His Father before time began, Jesus silently slipped into our world, breathed our air, felt our pain, became acquainted with our sorrows, suffered and died for our sins . . . to show us the way out of our darkness and into His glorious light. This Christmas, may you know the warmth of the Savior’s love spreading over you as you never have before. May the beauty of the season remind you of His intense concern for every detail of your life and His great, sacrificial love for you.” ― Chuck Swindoll

PASTOR’S NOTES

Sing We Now of Christmas

Have you ever had a song bring something alive in you?  Maybe it was the beat of the rhythm, the groove of the keys or guitar, or the soaring melody and harmony of singers.  Something made you go, “Oh yeah, this is my jam right here!” (or, you know, something similar to that).  Sometimes a musician just finds a way to strum the strings of our hearts, don’t they?

And then, there are those songs that run even deeper for us, right?  A songwriter, a poet pens a lyric that sinks deep into our souls, and we understand ourselves, our world, even God, more deeply than we did before.  The imagery connects something between our heads and our hearts that makes our eyes shine.  And when it comes to songs of Advent and Christmas, we find beloved carols that move us both musically and lyrically, recalling us to ages past and drawing us forward in to the future with Christ!

Come join us in the Blue Mound family as we worship this Advent and Christmas and listen with our hearts and souls as the scriptures and carols sing to us God’s Love this season!

What is the exact date of Jesus’ birth?

The connection of December 25 as the date of Christ’s birth was developed long after the New Testament period. While it serves as the day Christians have chosen to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the exact date of His birth is unknown.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

Is God Always with Us?

God is always with us, even though we at times cannot sense His presence. There may be situations where we feel really close to Him, yet on other occasions, He might seem distant and uninvolved in our life. As believers, however, we can be certain He is our constant companion whether we’re aware of Him or not.
