Where Do You Find Rest?

Where do you go, when you go on a vacation to get away from your everyday routine? The beach, the country, an amusement park, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, a resort, we all seek different ways to relax, rest or find peace of mind.  How often do we have the feeling when returning home, we need a rest from our vacation? We wear ourself out trying to rest.

The holiday season is coming.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are generally an exciting busy time for many people. A time for visiting family and friends, going to concerts and programs, parties and attending special church services.  Again, we wear ourself out trying to rest and enjoy holiday events. But this year has been increasingly stressful for many reasons.   Our normal routines have been altered and the traditional methods we celebrate this holiday season may change in a dynamic way.  Will the days ahead be totally different for you?

Thanksgiving Day has been set aside to be grateful for God’s blessings. Christmas is to celebrate the birth of the Son of God, Jesus. Many people have no understanding of the true meaning of these days. Over time the meaning has been replaced with other versions of the holiday. Some of the simplicity, peace and rest of this season has been lost.

“Where do you find rest?”.

Whatever you do during the holiday season, always remember,

Give Thanks to God and Praise Him for His Son Jesus, Our Savior.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11: 28

Special Note: Pastor’s Page for November Newsletter will be a little different.

Pastor Marc wrote a very inspiring report to present to the Charge Conference. I ask him if we could put it in the Newsletter for everyone to enjoy.   -Linda
