Making a mountain out of a molehill refers to over-reactive behavior where a person makes too much of a minor issue. If someone makes a mountain out of a molehill, they talk or complain about a small, unimportant problem as if it is important and serious. …
A molehill in fact can be as big as 2 feet in diameter and 9 inches high! That’s pretty impressive for a little mammal that’s only 5 to 8 inches long. In contrast, the size of a mountain can be several hundreds or thousands of feet high.
We all face various types of “mountains” during the course of our lifetime. But how do we decide the difference between our mountains and our molehills. Sometimes it is very easy to see which is which. At other times we are confused, fearful, anxious, or just get all caught up in the problem and cannot see it for what it is.
How do we move our mountains?
When you are facing a mountain that seems impossible to move, you don’t have to face it alone. Jesus is always with you. And we have a family of brothers and sisters in Christ that can add their faith to yours, and together you can get through the problem.
